Beautiful Creatures Review

Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1)Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don't even know where to start. WHERE TO FREAKING EVEN START?

My mind has officially been blown. WOW.

Some things I did while reading this book:
1. I sobbed.
2. I gasped.
3. I laughed.
4. I also at times didn't make a sound and just read. And read. And read. I would get home from school and read 100 pages and do my homework afterwards for like three days.

Now, well, I used to get so excited by something I read that I would just start skipping words and look for exciting parts. However, I have broken that habit and only fall back into it when a book just gets me so excited, hooks me so incredibly that I can't hold myself back. The Harry Potter series has done that for me, and so has this book.

After that spazz session, here's some things I really liked about this book:
1. The flashbacks in time.
Being a GIANT history nerd, a steamy, forbidden romance combined with historical aspects/reoccurrences throughout history just drove me crazy. It was everything I could have asked for in a book. If that made any sense at all.
2. Gatlin
Gatlin was a really interesting setting. Everything from its history, to its people made for an awesome town. If this book had been set anywhere else, it probably would be getting a two-star review. It is just so essential to the plot.

3. The romance
*SOBS IN HYSTERIA* Ethan and Lena. Their love was so real . And it made it five times better that (view spoiler)[ their ancestors were in love. It makes them like reincarnations of them! (hide spoiler)] Their connection (literally) was so destined and fated and raw...*mouth gaping and moving around*

When a book just blows me away like this, when it is just so stupendous, spectacular, amazing, wonderful, awesome, cool, magnificent, marvelous, splendid, lovely, breath-taking, PERFECT as this...my reviews end up being a lot of mindless fan-girling and obsessive crazy OMG-ing. I would say more but all I can say is WOW . How do you know if you should read it then? YOU SHOULD. YES YES YES YES YES YES PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS BOOK PLACE IT ON HOLD AT YOUR LIBRARY WHATEVER IT TAKES JUST PLEASE!!!!!!!!

And if you're a history and YA fan like me, well...

YOU WILL PROBABLY DIE WHEN YOU READ THIS BOOK.

So please, pick it up right now.

Overall thoughts:
This book just flowed together so perfectly. There is no way to describe what this book did to me. I was sitting in the middle of Staples in an office chair waiting for the rest of my family to buy some things and I was crying my eyes out, whimpering, and laughing like a maniac. Let's just say I got more than a few weird glares. Note to self: Never read a climax anywhere other than the privacy of your own home.

It's really quite sad. Every single time I read a book this good, I always tell myself I will give it a worthy review. And every single time, I end up spazz-ing in it and it's really just a load of mindless crap. So sorry for this freaky review. It's really all I am capable of doing.

There are no words that are really poignant enough to describe this book. JUST READ IT.

  1. Amazing review! I added Beautiful Creatures to my TBR after I first heard it was being made into a movie, but I still wasn't sure whether or not I would like it that much. You've definitely convinced me to read it, the romance and setting sound great :)
